Since, as indicated in her book, Free Ride to College: A Guide To Grooming Your Kids For A Full Academic Scholarship , she groomed all of her children to earn full academic rides to college. She also wanted to teach her children how to build wealth. She managed to become a property wholesaler, house flipper, and a Short Term and Medium Term Rental host in multiple cities including Washington, D.C, Columbus, Ohio, Flint Michigan, and San Diego, California, and now, a successful real estate developer in five short years, increasing her family’s net worth to over $1 million.
Now, this mom is on a mission to help others do the same. Her goal is to turn “I cannot afford real estate” into, you can’t afford not to do real estate. There are so many opportunities: note buying, wholesaling, flipping, private money lending etc. she encourages everyone to educate yourself, find their niche and step out of the box, stop being afraid, through a Real Estate Invest Group and take the leap.
A microbiologist and science teacher by trade, Norma set out to prove it can be done. She did her homework and discovered there really is a science to acquiring real estate by reading Vena Jones -Cox’s book, one of the founders of the Central Ohio REI, “How to get rich in the Columbus, Ohio Real Estate.
A native of Flint, Michigan, Norma is a successful entrepreneur, certified science teacher in the state of Ohio and author of the book Free Ride to College: A Guide To Grooming Your Kids For A Full Academic Scholarship. She wrote the book after sending all her kids to college on full academic rides and now, they are all engineers. Along with her husband and family they built Happy Spaces LLC: a real estate investment company. She earned a bachelor of science in Microbiology from Howard University in Washington D.C., and has called Columbus, Ohio home for over 30 years.
Norma and her husband now spend their time traveling the country, entertaining friends and relishing quiet evenings enjoying HGTV and their favorite Turner Classic Movies—life is good.
